Windigo Gaming have won the first edition of the Esport Balkan League after defeating Valiance 2-0 in the title decider. Held in Belgrade, the event featured the top four teams of the regular season, who competed in a single-elimination bracket for the top prize of €10,000 (approximately $11,570). The first round of the tournament featuring an exciting all-Bulgarian clash between Windigo and MK, with the former coming out on top on two maps with a strong individual display from Viktor "v1c7oR" Dyankov, who averaged a 1.40 Rating. In the other match, home side Valiance breezed past Romanian team Nexus, who did not reach double digits on either map. The grand final began on Cache, where Windigo got off to a flying start, cruising to a 12-3 lead as Terrorists. After switching sides, Valiance gave a much better account of themselves, winning nine of the first ten rounds, but then the Bulgarian side tightened up their defence and locked down the map, 16-13. On Train, the Serbian side came out much livelier and took a 9-6 half-time lead, but a near-flawless T side saw Windigo complete the turnaround in convincing fashion.
